The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra performs a spring concert. A  tribute to the fallenThe Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra is excited to be finishing up their 10th year with this spring concert to be held Friday, May 7th, 2010.

The concert is entitled “A Tribute to the Fallen” and will feature saxophonist Art Bouton, the  Associate Professor of Saxophone and Chair of the Woodwind Department at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music.

Friday, May 7, 2010 – A Tribute to the Fallen
7:30 p.m. (begins promptly, early arrival ensures your seat)
$5 donation is appreciated
Children under 12 are free

The concert will include the selections below:
“Victory at Sea” – Richard Rodgers (1902-1979)
“Theme from ‘Band of Brothers’” – Michael Kamen (1948-2003)
“Ashokan Farewell [as featured in Ken Burns' 'The Civil War']
“Suite Franaise” – Darius Milhaud (1892-1974)
“Festival Overture The Year 1812 [1812 Overture] Op 49″ – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893)
“Stars and Stripes Forever” – John Philip Sousa (1854-1932)
“Saxophone Concerto” – Michael Torke (1961 – )

Jacinda M. Bouton, a Lone Tree resident, has been the Principal  Conductor and Music Director of the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra since  its premier in 2000.

The orchestra is currently looking for musicians to fill the following openings: Double Bass, Percussion, Viola, Violin, and Violoncello. Please contact Wes Sansom to arrange an audition. They hold auditions each year so if you are interested in joining the group there is more information here.

Start the evening at Via Baci Italian Bistro just 5 minutes East of the Concert.
